Inquiry into the scrutiny of subordinate legislation and delegated powers

Congratulations on your appointment as Chair of the Subordinate Legislation Committee.

As you will be aware, your predecessor, Dr Dai Lloyd, wrote to me on 6 January, seeking my views as Chair of the Children and Young People Committee as to how the work of the Subordinate Legislation Committee could potentially inform the future work of the Children and Young People Committee, and vica versa, to ensure further effective working.  

I welcome the Subordinate Legislation Committee’s current inquiry into the scrutiny of subordinate legislation and delegated powers, given that appropriate consideration of all forms of subordinate legislation and delegated powers should form a key function of the National Assembly for Wales.

Following consultation with Committee colleagues, I have detailed in Annex 1 of this correspondence our answers to the questions you enclosed with your letter.
