About the Proposed Measure
The Proposed Welsh Language (Wales) Measure is intended to modernise the existing legal framework largely governed by the Welsh Language Act 1993 regarding the use of the Welsh language in the delivery of public services.
Current Stage
Following agreement by the National Assembly of the text of the proposed Measure, it received Royal Approval on 9 February 2011. The proposed Measure is now a Measure of the National Assembly (a Welsh law).
