I am the Leader of Plaid Cymru and Deputy First Minister at the National Assembly for Wales. I was elected Member of Parliament for Ynys Môn (Anglesey) in 1987 and represented the constituency at Westminster until 2001. I have been Assembly Member for Ynys Môn since 1999. I was born in 1949 and received my education at Liverpool Polytechnic. I am a solicitor by profession. I am a former Chairman of Plaid Cymru and have previously served as Chair of the Assembly’s Agriculture and Rural Committee.
